Don't you love the most random memories that pop into your head at times. I mean just BAM and it's there- you had nothing in your mind of it before and nothing to relate it to from what's going on around you. It just appears.
I sure do hope this weekend doesn't end up disappointing me. I have a feeling things won't turn out as I have planned. I think I've looked forward to it too much. We'll see what happens. Sorry- kinda random.

This semester has been incredibly busy with school work, but at the same time a lot of fun. I feel that at the apartment I really waste a lot of time and don't get as much work done. I slack off a lot more and my lazy tendencies are allowed to show up a lot more. But I am having some good clean fun with my roommates and friends that I didn't really allow myself the time to do last year.
One of my outs this semester is swing dancing. Yes, swing dancing. It's finally back in my life again. Back in high school, I used to swing pretty close to every weekend. If not swing dancing, it was contra-dancing or starbucks. Those were my saturday nights. Towards the end of high school, most of my dancing friends graduated (they were a year ahead of me) and I fell out of the swing thing. But.. it's back.
I finally talked someone into going swingin' with me and he has stuck with it. Wes and I now go to the friday night dances and take swing classes on sundays. It's so beast. We are both taking an east coast swing class and a lindy hop swing class. We originally signed up for the east coast hoping that it would reinforce our foundations, but teach some good moves that we had never seen thus far. It has gotten better since we have shown that we can learn very quickly and know most of the beginners' moves. They are finally teaching some good, new stuff. Out lindy class is excellent. There are a perfect amount of people and it's all incredibly new to me, so not boring like the east coast tends to get. Plus, lindy hop is just a much better, more exciting dance. I am glad that Wes decided to do the swing thing with me. Otherwise, I think I would be sitting at home like last semester wishing I had someone to go swing dancing with.
Wes and I are getting pretty serious about this swing thing too. We went to Goodwill a couple weeks ago and bought 3-piece pinstriped suits to wear for the upcoming halloween dance. We both found suits to fit us. It was awesome. I only spent $10.50 and now I have a suit that I can probably wear the rest of my life. It's a great suit. Amanda is coming down for the halloween swing dance and it's also a costume party. It's going to be so much fun :-) I can't wait. This is one of the major highlights of my semester.
I'm so lucky to have the friends that I do.
