| Valentine's Weekend |

currently playing: Crocodile Rock - Elton John

Friday:

I finished my quiz in english around 1:45 and my mom was there to pick me up immediately after class. I walked to the car and she took me back to the dorm. After grabbing a few more things from room we were on our way. At this point in time, all Amanda knew was that I was picking her up from UVA sometime late afternoon. I didn't tell her anything else I had planned for the weekend. My mom and I got to her dorm around 4:30ish and I went up to get her. She packed and we were on our way. I finally told her what we were doing for Friday night and we left for richmond. We dropped her off at her house to get all dressed up and all. I had called her mom a week or so before to make sure that she had a dress and everything ready for her when she got there. Her mom also planned on doing her hair and makeup and everything for the night. Around 7 :30ish, I went to pick her up and we went to Williamsburg to meet Kevin and Annie and his apartment for dinner. Annie made some really good tomato chicken stuff over rice. We got there around 8:30-8:45, so we had to kinda get things going to make it on time to the alumni hall. Once we finished a nice dinner, we all changed into our fancy clothes and headed off to the dance. It was a Waltz Ball that we were attending, so I kept it from amanda until that afternoon. She guessed that we were going to Williamsburg, but I don't think she expected anything like a Waltz Ball. It was like an old-fashioned dance where you have dance cards that you get people to sign. Well, kevin and annie did that thing, but I just danced with amanda the whole time and annie for a couple of dances. It was a good time other than some problems that the DJ had with cd's skipping and stuff- and the fact that they only played 10 waltzes. I had a good time and I think Amanda enjoyed it as well, so that's all I cared about. We left the dance early because Amanda and I had to drive back to richmond that night. We got back pretty late that night, but it was a good time.

Saturday:

Amanda and I woke up really early because she had tennis club tryouts back at UVA that morning. I was obligated to take her back since I sort of kidnapped her the night before. So she went to the tryouts while I chilled in her dorm room doing some homework. After she finished, we headed back to Richmond. We went straight back to my house and did physics for the whole afternoon until kevin and annie arrived. We hung around the house until dinner was ready, and we had a nice sit down dinner with fancy food prepared by my mom and dad (I stirred it!). It was really nice. During dessert, kevin showed us the game "The key to the game" and we seriously played that for like 45 min. It was so frustrating, yet intriguing. Kevin was having a great time laughing at us since we couldn't figure the stupid thing out. If you don't know what I'm talking about, ask me and I will play with you. Trust me, you will feel dumb. So after that, kevin and annie headed back to williamsburg and amanda and I did some more physics (she had a test coming up on Valentine's Day). I gave her the bouquet of red tulips after dinner.

Sunday:

I slept in since I hadn't gotten sleep in a long time. We picked amanda up around 11ish and headed back to UVA/Tech. We dropped her off :-( and drove back to Tech. I think she had a good weekend. I had ordered flowers to be delivered to her dorm on actual valentine's day since I wouldn't see her. I also left a surprise letter for her. I'm so glad I got to see her that weekend. I enjoyed every min. of it. :-)

I got back and unpacked only to start on the loads of work waiting for me. I worked really hard and got it all done early. That's when I got the idea of using Andrew's keyboard to record a song for Amanda to send to her early Valentine's morning. I sang and played "She's Got a Way" by Billy Joel... the piano sounded good. I realized how much I suck at singing. I sent to her anyways though. It's the words that I wanted to get across- I didn't care how bad it sounded.

By the time I finished recording the stuff, it was about 12:30am Monday morning. I was just about to go to bed, but I checked my e-mail right before. yea... my english teacher sent an e-mail out at 11:58pm "reminding" us that we had a paper due in class monday. I was like WHAT!!! He never mentioned that. If he did, I must have been totally out of it or something. The worst part was that I hadn't read what the paper was supposed to be on yet. So I got myself all settled and started on that. I didn't finish until 2:30am. It wasn't a great way to start out my week, but I'd do it again for a weekend as great as that. :-)

I'd have to say that the weekend went extraordinarily well. There was a lot of improvising in there to make sure everything went smoothly (mainly with keeping stuff a surprise for amanda), but I don't think it could have been better. She's worth more than words. Not cliche; true. Thanks for a memorable weekend.

| Good Morning |

I can see straight when you're around.
My mind wanders and continues to dream
Without a change; without a change of ways.

The time comes when I can't look
Through you and be happy.
I must move on in an unchanging, neverending day.

But I can honestly say
That you make my day.

Where would I be
Without my cup of coffee?

*haha this is what I came up with last night when I was trying to write some lyrics. It's not serious- you can make fun of it all you like. I know I'm not a poet.
